Paul Prudence was born, lives, and works in London, UK. Early years were spent drafting fantastical landscapes in pen and ink. The most formative experience was undoubtedly the stealing an encyclopedia of surrealism from the local library as a young teenager. Later on a mistake was made studying fine art at Goldsmiths College in London.
After trashing the idea of being part of the 'art world' and being in
the enviable position of being unemployable, he spent a few years travelling,
then voluntary working as an art therapist in a mental hospital. Spare
time was spent staying up until morning painting pictures influenced by
altered states of consciousness.
In the last few years he’s traded the traditional mediums of paint
and paper for photons and the qwerty mnemonic. Since then he’s had
some graphic work published in magazines and a video work commissioned
by UK TV.
