A load of old RSS
With RSS we can beam pure quantum electromagnetic dynamic flux wave energy directly into your brain, releasing millions of tiny joy particles from the upper-funk zone of your hypothalamus, thereby enabling you to run faster, jump higher, and dance better.
Well, not quite, but with our RSS newsfeed you’ll get all the important d2d community news, gossip, and fun links before lesser mortals, with their old-fashioned casual web surfing techniques. RSS (or RDF Site Summary) offers the simplest way to syndicate content, via XML, for use in other sites and news readers. For a very nice tutorial and overview on RSS, check out this introduction, which includes links to some of the common RSS readers, also known as aggregators. Many PC users at foED swear by SharpReader – “RSS has enhanced my digital workflow dramatically!” said one Editor, yesterday, “Now that I subscribe to all my favorite design sites and blogs, and SharpReader tells me when new articles are posted, I have much more time for sitting around and playing silly Flash games!”. Mac users can do a lot worse than to take a look at Shrook. Regardless of which aggregator you choose their basic operation remains the same with you subscribing to a site's feed, rather like adding a site to your web browsers 'favorites'. You'll often find newsfeeds on sites indicated through the use of a small blue or orange icon, similar to the one on our homepage: ![]()
